About

Yunus Emre Mert

Yunus Emre Mert is a mechanical engineer, builder, and software developer from Antalya, Türkiye. He graduated from Akdeniz University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, but his interest in engineering started long before university. Since childhood, he has been fascinated by taking things apart, understanding how they work, and building them again in new ways.

That curiosity has followed him into countless personal projects. Over the years he has designed and built custom hardware for racing simulators, including a fully functional force-feedback steering wheel, and has recreated large sections of a Boeing 737 home cockpit from scratch. Whether it's mechanical systems, electronics, CAD models or software, he enjoys creating things that didn't exist before.

Professionally, his career has taken him through HVAC and MEP projects, cold storage systems, and large-scale construction. Most recently, he spent two years in Saudi Arabia working on NEOM's Trojena development, where he was responsible for the maintenance, operation, and management of heavy construction machinery and equipment on one of the world's largest construction projects.

Today, much of his attention has shifted toward software. Combining his engineering background with programming, he is currently developing Solmex, a modern maintenance and fleet management platform (CMMS) designed for construction companies, heavy equipment fleets, and industrial operations. The project reflects the intersection of his two favorite disciplines: engineering and software.

Outside work, you'll probably find him playing Red Hot Chili Peppers with a guitar in his hands, experimenting with new software ideas or working on another ambitious engineering project.
